AVID celebrates the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace

Australian volunteers have supported sports development assignments in 27 countries across Asia and the Pacific since 2001. Sporting volunteers complete assignments in community sports coordination, sports broadcasting, event coordination, physical education and water safety. These assignments promote disability inclusion, reduction of non-communicable diseases, gender equality, youth engagement and social cohesion.
