Vanuatu Skills Partnership

Client Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade

The Vanuatu Skills Partnership is funded by the Government of Australia and emphasises mutual accountability, co-contribution and partnership for the continued dynamic development of the national skills system in Vanuatu.

The approach of the Partnership is not a ‘stand-alone’ program determined by outsiders; it is locally led with a deep respect for Melanesian leadership, culture and values. It works within local structures and policies, and supports local agents for positive change in Vanuatu. The approach also recognises that the skills sector can, and should, contribute to beneficial economic, social and environmental outcomes.

In this way, it is an authentic partnership between the Governments of Vanuatu and Australia with a shared vision of sustainable reform of the national skills system, in line with Vanuatu 2030 – the People’s Plan.

The Vanuatu Skills Partnership was previously known as the Vanuatu Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Sector Strengthening Program. It has been funded by the Government of Australia for over a decade through an agreement with the Ministry of Training and Education.

Scope Global has been appointed to provide support coordination to the fourth phase of the Vanuatu Skills Partnership. Scope Global provides operational support to the local team, to ensure the Partnership has effective systems in place to support its work.
