Kiribati Facility (including Skills for Employment Program)
Client Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)
The Kiribati Facility, managed by Scope Global on behalf of DFAT, comprises the Skills for Employment Program and the Flexible Support Facility.
The Skills for Employment Program builds on the Kiribati TVET Sector Strengthening Program and is primarily aimed at developing a more capable, qualified and mobile i-Kiribati workforce. It will support the Government of Kiribati to provide labour market demand-driven skills development to young people who seek to work in domestic and offshore labour markets.
The Skills for Employment Program seeks to:
- Increase the equitable participation of 16-24 year-old women and men in skills development programs
- Increase the recognition of Kiribati Institute of Technology qualifications and the employability of its graduates
- Establish the Kiribati Institute of Technology as a high quality, regionally recognised and registered training organisation
- Improve the management and coordination of the Kiribati skills sector.
The Flexible Support Facility will provide DFAT with an efficient and flexible mechanism to implement its aid investments in multiple sectors in Kiribati. It will provide DFAT with an opportunity to manage the performance of its aid program through a holistic monitoring and evaluation framework, and promote more efficient procurement and resourcing arrangements.
