Indonesia-Australia Specialised Training Project (IASTP)

Client Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT)

Year 1995 – 2009

The Indonesia Australia Specialised Training Project ran in 3 separate phases. Across Phase I, Scope Global managed more than 40 workshops and seminars which were conducted in Indonesia for 1720 participants. Across phases II and III, Scope Global implemented more than 30 individual training programs both in Indonesia and in Australia. The project provided structured training to promote community development, good governance and agency capacity building at central, regional and district levels in Indonesia. IASTP used Australian and Indonesian training providers to deliver specialised courses tailored for the Indonesian context. Trainees were encouraged and supported in promoting their skills in their workplaces, and mentors were used to enhance sustainability.

Scope Global was responsible for the design, implementation and management of each training course which involved close collaboration with relevant Government of Indonesia agencies and ministries (central, provincial & district levels) and the private sector. Scope Global successfully delivered courses to Indonesian government officials and private sector participants both in Indonesia and in Australia in such areas as: Gender Mainstreaming & Analysis, District & Provincial Financial Management, Quality Assurance in Basic Education, Small-Medium Scale Business Development, Energy Planning and Management and Effective Asset Management. For all courses, Scope Global Nusantara, Scope Global’s Indonesian subsidiary, provided full in-Indonesia support and assistance. All training programs were designed and conducted in close consultation with Indonesian partners.
