Scope Global is proud to be associated with the inaugural Returned Australian Volunteer Network (RAVN) conference Valuing Volunteers: Bridge Builders & Change Makers taking place in Melbourne on 3-4 December 2016.
The conference brings together returned volunteers from all Australian Government volunteering programs for two days of thought-provoking discussions on international development, social entrepreneurship and the possibilities of volunteering. Representatives from Australian Partner Organisations who have supported the volunteer program are also invited to attend.
Keynote speakers include Anh Do, acclaimed comedian, artist and author; Dr David Chong, world renowned Australian plastic surgeon who volunteers each year in developing countries operating on children for Operation Smile and the Mercy Ship; and Samantha Gash, adventure athlete, lawyer, social entrepreneur and National Crusader for the League of Extraordinary Women.
For returned volunteers looking to establish an NGO or social enterprise, Nic Marchesi and Lucas Patchett, 2016 Young Australians of the Year and founders of Orange Sky Laundry; Marita Cheng, 2012 Young Australian of the Year and founder of Robogals Global; and Elliot Costello, social entrepreneur and founder of YGAP, will be on hand to provide inspiration.
Scope Global has been associated with the Australian Government volunteer program since 2002, delivering the Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development (AYAD), Volunteering for International Development from Australia (VIDA) and now the Australian Volunteers for International Development (AVID) programs on behalf of the Australian Government.
We are looking forward to connecting with all of our returned volunteers, each of them an automatic member of the Returned Australian Volunteer Network, at this exciting conference.
